In fairness to new (Black, LGBTQ) White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, defending President Biden's plan to beat inflation with higher taxes on corporations and the wealthy, is not empirically possible...even with years of job explaining experience. Nevertheless, Jean-Pierre's early awkwardness may be due to the fact that she has to read her notes, and can't think on her feet. But she's not alone, and not the worst at this.
