Why do Anglicans spend so much time reading the Bible during #morningprayer? Did you know they also read from the Apocrypha during this service sometimes? How do they justify that? In this video, Father Jeremiah discusses the reading of the lessons and why we sometimes say, "The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God" and at other times say "Here ends the reading." He also considers the differences between the Holy Bible and the Apocrypha through these considerations.

Father Jeremiah's walk through of Morning Prayer comes from the 2019 Book of Common Prayer, which Grace Anglican uses in all their worship together. This is the eighth part in a multi-part series. You can find all parts here:

Father Jeremiah is the vicar (part time parish priest) of Grace Anglican Church in Gastonia, NC. Grace Anglican is a church that is intentionally liturgical and desires to show people the beauty of the liturgy in daily life. We want people to learn how to serve Jesus through the various vocations he has placed each of us in. These vocations are the God-given places of our lives where we can truly love and serve our neighbors. The liturgy connects to our vocations by shaping us to see and love the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our serving those we encounter in our daily lives.

Grace Anglican is a multi-generational, growing congregation that thrives on building relationships with all those who enter her doors. We worship every Sunday at 10am at 800 Robinson Rd, Gastonia, NC. Come and visit and discover the joy of liturgical worship and being sent to love and serve in our vocations. Visit us at https://www.gracegastonia.com for more about our church.
