Very well visualized, but poor execution.

As a big Godzilla fan, I appreciate this game for what it is: a big Kaiju beatemup. It feels great to smash through buildings effortlessly, and to face off against other monsters! The god of destruction mode is entertaining for a while but slowly starts to get old. You can change your playable Kaiju at the beginning of each run, which can be fun to try out move sets. The V.s mode is a little lackluster in 2020. There are almost no servers or people playing. If you do happen to get matched though, it will usually be against an expert player who knows every hidden move set for a bunch of OP Monsters. Lastly, the diorama mode is an interesting and cute addition. As you play with different characters, you unlock different diorama figures to use in a photo mode! You can make mock battles and play with the filter to make it seem like old movies. My biggest complaint however (and many Godzilla 2014 fans can advocate for this) is the movement. It is extremely clunky to use the L1 and R1 buttons to turn left and right, especially if the camera is facing your character's face. You also move at a snails pace, which makes sense for obvious reasons, but there is no way to speed up. The combos as well are extremely obnoxious. There are some combos that just keep you locked into damage because your character reels back every time they are significantly hurt. One last complaint is that you can not see your health bar in another mode except for online V.S mode. This really sucks because you don't know when to back off from a fight until your screen turns orange around the edges, but usually by then its too late. Overall, this game is good for Godzilla fans to experience, but maybe not a game for everyday playtime.
