The Role of the Governor

Hi everyone. Ethel Rose Maharg for governor here, and I just want to address something that is, people have asked me, what are you going to do about this? What are you can do about that? And so I want, I want you to know this. I understand completely what the role of the governor is, and that is to protect you from government.

But I also know that the role of the governor is to provide proper infrastructure for you to be able to pursue that happiness that is given to us, right? The declaration of independence. Well, you really can't do that. If you can't, if you have really bad roads, if you don't have the water, you don't have electricity, you don't have your broadband internet that you need in your areas.

You know what folks I lived in Cuba, New Mexico, just 30 miles down the road. Those poor people, they have washboard roads. I know there's some here, but for them, it's a way of life. And I promise you that I will never forget you because I lived there. I lived in those areas and I saw the difficulties that you have and you know what we experienced some ourselves.

So I want you to know that I am here for you, and I'm here to hear your cries and you're pleads, and I won't ever turn you away and I'm going to do everything I possibly can so that you can have the lifestyle that you choose to have. I want to see that you have better roads. I want to see that you have water, electricity and everything that you need. If you need internet, we'll see if we can't get it in there. It may take a little doing, but I promise you, I will do everything that I can so that you will be able to do the things that make your life the very best so that you can pursue your happiness. So I promise you being from a small community, farming ranching. I understand it. I know what it's like. I know the difficulties that you have. So it isn't like you're speaking to a governor candidate that hasn't lived that life I have. Hey, I know what it's like to have an outhouse and cook on a wood stove and also to heat by wood. You know, we'd gone out and got no longer what I know how to start fires. I know how to cook on a wood stove. I know all those things. So I am a governor that understands cause I've lived it. I know what it's like to lay awake at night, wondering whether or not I could pay my belts. I lay awake at night, wondering how my kids are. If it will be able to send them to school, it will be able to take your, all their needs folks. I truly get it. You know what? I know what it's like when you have all those uncertainties in your life. And you wonder, even if you can fix your car because your roads have torn them up, I don't want that for you. I'm going to do everything that I can to make your life the best that we can make it.

So if you'll join me, go to Ethel4gov.com that is ETHEL4GOV.COM. And join me in this crusade that we can make our state the best that it can be for all of us, for all of us. Thank you so much.
