Florida Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, joined First Lady Casey DeSantis to announce $100 million in funding for cancer research and care in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget, a $37 million increase over the current budget.
After the roundtable last year, Governor Ron DeSantis proposed this historic funding for Florida's top cancer centers to continue providing world-class care to cancer patients.
"As a physician, my patients with cancer were the most courageous," said Dr. Ladapo. "They showed optimism in the face of their difficult battle."
This funding will identify places of discovery that will help us prevent and treat cancer around the world.
