Nine years after retirement, Colonel Steve Austin must again team up with Jaime Sommers to stop a terrorist group. His son Michael is in pilot training. When Michael is severely injured in a crash, Steve must make the same decision about fitting him with bionics that he had to make with Jaime years ago after her accident. Oscar Goldman also returns. This movie was a pilot for a potential series based on the character of Michael Austin, but the series never materialized. Two more television movies followed, Bionic Showdown (1989) and Bionic Ever After? (1994)
