On 20 April 1869, Leezdorf came to an official village. Every year the village has a Windmill festival. The population is over 1900. The village is located in the German state of Lower Saxony by the North Sea. There is a Leezdorf School. There is also a Leezdorf Soccer Field and sports field.

In 1895, the first windmill was destroyed by the wind! Between 1896 and 1987 was rebuilt, and a gallery Dutchman has been restored in recent years. Today the windmill presents the permanent exhibition "Old Customs". A kitchenette has also been set up for visitors.
