On this song, Browne questioned the Path that Society was taking towards self destruction, and in particular, his own path...that was largely Strait and Narrow, and yet because he was another Pawn in the Music Industry Circle of Recording an Album, Touring incessantly, to then come home and have the industry demand another album of New Material...Browne, himself, found that he was falling behind the SON and the work that he knew he must do to refresh and renew himself...thus, the song is as much as Jackson Browne's own story, as it is anyone else's...

And because he did this, putting himself, smack-dab in the middle with everyone else falling behind the '8-Ball', the audience received these songs of Fire, loaded with Questions, extremely well...

No matter who we are, when we become fixated on the 'Dates of the Tour' alone, instead of the Joy of playing the Music, and the bond that is created between the Band and the Audience in a Live setting, we become truly LOST...Spiritually Bereft and Morally Bankrupt...so, always remember, that it isn't about the Destination that we will never truly come to, rather the Journey of Adventures along the WAY...and the Way is that of the Son of Man...Jesus Christ!
