Here's an exciting video of our unique sighting in Block 1 of Yala National Park. We mostly avoided the overcrowded part of the park. However, during our visits to Block 1, our guides were able to avoid most crowds. In this particular instance, there was no way to avoid the crowd, but our positioning ended up being quite fortunate.

It started in the morning with an early sighting of the bear. It was in the bushes and we were the third jeep on the scene. Unfortunately, no good sightings were possible. Our guide made some connections with a couple of the other guides present and then we went on our merry way.

About an hour later, we got a call from those other guides who had been there earlier, saying that the bear had come out. We headed that way and ended up being behind a pile of probably 100 jeeps. Low and behold, the bear came our direction and we ended up being first in line for front row seats of the bear! Wow. We could have reached out and touched it it was so close to us. So much fun!
