(RI) S2219 Press Conference - Megan Reilly Supports Closing Loophole Allowing Person In Authority From Having Any Sexual Contact With Minors

Megan Reilly is from North Kingstown, RI. Her passion to protect children arises from local issues surrounding school athletic coach, Aaron Thomas. Aaron Thomas was doing naked ‘fat body’ tests on school athletes and the school was pretty much taking a blind eye.

Megan brings up the more notorious abusers, college football coach Jerry Sandusky and team doctor of the United States women's national gymnastics team, Larry Nassar.

While not receiving the same national attention, Aaron Thomas did make national news.
Rhode Island is one of few states that have a loophole allowing for sexual contact between an adult in authority and a student over the age of fourteen with consent.
