Today we're reading an article by Ralph Sherman about Saint Catherine of Siena’s History and Mysticism. Catherine of Siena; Saint of Rome and Italy, is one of the female mystics of the Catholic Church. She was born in Siena, Italy, on March 25, 1347. Her parents were Lapa Piagenti and Giacomo di Benincasa. She had 24 siblings, including a twin!

Sherman tells us that even though Catherine was not formally educated, she was a great theologian and had many mystical experiences, including her mystical marriage to Christ.
