"What's the best way to do product research?"

I typically spend 30 minutes everyday looking at products and doing research.
4/5 products I test are based from my own KPI's and rules that I've set, and the 5th product is something totally random and different, from a different niche, or something that I typically won't test, just to see how it performs.
