GOES 18 Goes Operational! Earth Is A Perfect Ball?

They said that our Earth was more Pear Shaped (Neil deGrasse Tyson) and that it was wider by some distance around the equator (NASA)? This is suppose to be the actual picture from GOES 18 and it is a perfect ball? I am confused!
