Rings of Power Prequels INVADE Lord of The Rings - Book Covers Retcon By Harper Collins

The original Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien has had many covers in its day, but all of them were to do with the books themselves. Now Rings of Power has come out with reprints featuring their new Amazon Prime TV series covers. Covers which have nothing to do with the original Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Why do so many writers love prequels, why are they so intent on tying their unrelated work to the original work that has such a fan base. And why are so many people trying to downplay anyone who talks about this?
