All indications are that Clark County residents are looking ahead to one glorious weekend of sunny weather. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will continue to warm up in the area through Saturday, reaching an estimated high of 82 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. The record high temperature for April 17th is 81 degrees, taken at PDX, so we could see that broken on Saturday. According to KPTV Meteorologist Jeff (FORGE-RUN) Forgeron, by Sunday a wind reversal should take place out toward the coast, which should cool things back down into the 70s for next week. Clark County Fire Marshal Dan Young asks area residents to keep in mind that we have had one of our driest springs on record. Young issued a temporary burn ban that went into effect today and will continue to next Friday. Area officials are also reminding residents that even though the outside temperatures are warm, the water in area lakes and rivers is not and that creates dangerous swimming conditions. So, enjoy the upcoming warm weather this weekend, but be safe. If you’re headed to a Clark County Park to enjoy the sunshine, you can now pay for parking ahead of time with the FLOWBIRD app. Just download it from the app store of choice, make an account and you are ready to go with contactless payment.
