Roel is the founder of the initiative Cosmic Truffles, which has a team of experts under its wings, including psychologists, therapists, various coaches, and guides. After years of profound interest in the applications and the history of several psychedelics, the idea to play a part in this field arose. The rich literature, extensive knowledge, and several personal experiences eventually led Roel to believe that psychedelic mushrooms, in particular, could play an important role in improving the mental health and general wellbeing of our fellow human beings.

In order to understand the impact psychedelics had on humanity (and their impact was more profound than most of us realize), we start the conversation by looking into the history of psychedelic use. From the dawn of our species and the very first civilizations, through the psychedelic revolution of the 60s and the subsequent war on drugs, all the way to the most recent studies done by prestigious universities, like John Hopkins University, showing more than promising results.

We also did our best to debunk certain prevalent myths, which still linger in our society, about the dangers of entheogens, including "bad trips", toxicity, and inducing mental health issues.

It is not an understatement to say that psychedelics are a true mystery to be explored. Despite scientific, as well as empirical evidence showing us the huge potential they have for treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and even addictions and alleviating the fear of dying in terminally ill patients, we still might be merely scratching the surface.

I truly hope this podcast will at least to a small extent emulate that which these substances are so good at - open your mind to new possibilities and expand your horizon.
