Sunday Longplay - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Classic Mode (1986 Mode, Hard)

This week on Sunday Longplay, shortly after I uploaded my Classic Mode playthrough of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, a new difficulty option was discovered. By entering a variant of the Konami Code on the Classic Mode title screen (replace B and A with X and B on an Xbox controller or with Square and O on a Playstation controller), you can unlock 1986 Mode, which removes most of Miriam's new abilities (no backflip, no backstep, no slide, no jumping on or off stairs, no midair jump control) and makes the gameplay feel truly authentic to Castlevania 1. If you entered the code right, you should hear a chime as "1986 Mode" appears below the title screen, the difficulty select option should have a Famicom cartridge icon with the number 86 on it, and Miriam's outfit in the game should be recolored red. So now let's journey back through the Hellhold and tackle this new challenge!

This mode was pretty hard on regular Hard mode, but the extra movement restrictions of 1986 Mode raise the challenge to a whole new level! Level 4 in particular nearly broke me! Maybe not quite Curse of the Moon 2 Legend Style levels of hard, but it's still a decent challenge!
