Pipe Poems: A Kindred Smoke
A Kindred Smoke
With thought filled silence in whisps of haze,
a glow of ember sets the stage.
And quiet moments long desired,
Relax the soul and soothe the tired.
Tradition held from ancient days,
Seldom changed from ancient ways.
Connecting friends from every age,
through thought, through mood, through each life’s stage.
With friend or foe or all alone,
A kindred spirit can be shown,
with those who’ve come before our time,
and those who’ll later toe the line.
So sip and puff and blow your rings,
And ponder on these simple things.
While as the last leaf burns away,
we salute the friends of yesterday.
