Today Chef EK is making French Macarons, But offering an alternative way to present them. They're a french cookie made from almond flour, sugar and egg whites. It has a delicate crispy shell and a soft and chewy center.

Macarons:
1)Boil the Water and sugar as stated, do not stir
2)Add your icing sugar and almond powder together and mix
3)Sift your almond powder well into a mixing bowl
4)Add your egg whites and mix well (Save half for whipping)
5)Whip the other half of your egg whites as your sugar syrup comes to a boil
6)Slowly add in the sugar while still whipping your egg whites
7)Merge your 2 mixes together and fold.

8)Add your coloring

Portion into a piping bag and distribute the mix on a baking sheet to 1inch dots

Let The Dots rest at room temperature for 1 hour to develop a foot

bake at 165c for 15-20 minutes

Let rest or freeze after baking to make it easy to remove from tray

Remove from baking tray and build your macarons with the filling you made (lemon curd in this video)
