First bikini, United Nations, V2 Rockets, UNICEF, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Best Years of our Lives”, Route 66, Las Vegas Flamingo, Tupperware, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, Donald Trump, Hermann Göring trail filled the papers, radio and TV. What a year. Scootering as we know just might have been started in the Spring of 1946 by a small Italian company named Vespa… maybe you have heard of it or even rode a Vespa?

This week Vespa celebrates it’s 75th Anniversary with the milestone of 19 million units produced (2 million in the past 10 years alone). And when you think of Vespa, you can’t help think of history, style, fashion and design as Vespa has shaped and molded our social fabric for decades. Selling in 83 countries around the world, Vespa is a true youthful international icon of riding.
