Why we always seal electrical penetrations!
Well, this video does show one of the many reasons why we ALWAYS seal electrical penetrations anyway!
Electrical switches, solar inverters, air conditioners and pretty much anything that has live electrical circuits are all places that you really don't want creepy crawlies, dust or water getting into. That's why it's so important to always seal up any holes where these things could potentially enter the device.
We also recommend only using bottom entries into electrical devices, this helps to ensure that if any water is around gravity will keep it away from dripping onto live components and causing problems!
This particular isolator is installed on an off grid solar power system located in a Gold Coast hinterland rainforest. The snakes are Australian Small Eyed Snakes, which are highly venomous. Fortunately, however, they are not inclined to bite!
