Dragon Quest, a.k.a. Dragon Warrior, was developed by Chunsoft and originally released for the Famicom 1986 by Enix. It first came to the West in 1989 as Dragon Warrior for NES, published by Nintendo, and started the JRPG genre as we know it today.
