Looks like the current Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro does not plan to attend the Summit of the Americas, which will take place in the U.S. next month.

The Summit of the Americas is set to bring together the heads of state of the countries that comprise the American continent and takes place every three or four years. The US will host its 9th edition this year, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California. This Summit is to focus on “building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future” for the hemisphere. Washington has, however, declared that Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua will not be invited to the summit.

And given the dynamics of the global order, it is becoming imperative to understand that Latin America is looking out for its own economic, financial, and strategic future.

Is the era of the US dominance in Latin America, like on the global stage, coming to end?
