School of Music | A Tribute to Ukraine
“Melody” by Myroslav Skoryk
Presented by the violin studio of Dr. Yevgeniy Dovgalyuk, Associate Professor of Violin
This moving piece was written in 1981 by the Ukrainian composer, Myroslav Skoryk (1930-2020), to convey his understanding of tragedy and profound sadness—something impossible to express with words. It has since become the spiritual hymn of Ukraine.
Dr. Dovgalyuk has deep roots in the western part of Ukraine and, together with his studio and the Liberty University School of Music, asks you to join us in prayer for all of those who are affected by the tragedy of war. May the Lord draw both Ukrainians and Russians to Himself and bring peace soon!
