At 45 Years Old My Alcoholism & Addictions Came Crashing Down On Me...

In this episode I am having Dan Reeves the host of "Spiritual Underground Podcast" on to talk about his past struggle with alcoholism and addiction. I was recently on Dan's podcast and did a 3 1/2 hour episode on my story. It was actually the best version of my story to date that I have told. (link below)

At 45 years old my alcoholism and addictions came crashing down on me, I was facing 6-20 years in prison, I had given away a 17 year marriage and was on the verge of losing everything.
*
Even with those consequences hovering, I was unable to stop consuming the very chemicals that put me in this position.
*
Until I met the Spiritual Underground group and my 12 Step Sponsor Christopher. He guided me through the Steps and the trajectory of my life was forever altered. I ended up sentenced to three years, one on home incarceration, one on probation and the third suspended pending successful completion of the first two.
*
Since taking this path, many miracles have occurred in my life, first and foremost, release from the grip of addiction. It has aligned my compass to my own personal “True North”, and has given purpose to an almost lost life.
*
Along the way, I launched a podcast, “Spiritual Underground Podcast”, where I carry this message of recovery through the age old tradition of story telling, specifically the 12 Step method of “What it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now”.
*
After 28 years in corporate America, I was laid off and built my own woodwork and handyman business, I also became a Registered Yoga Teacher.
*
I am a founding member of a group based out of Louisville KY called Twelve Step Spiritual Recovery (TSSR), where we offer the same time tested 12 Step solution to anyone wishing to try out the tools. We help folks who do not fit in the traditional 12 Step fellowships to harness these principles.
*
We define “Recovery” as “to reclaim that which was lost or stolen”; and what was lost and or stolen, was our true selves, our true voice, our connection to the universal power, we have lost our very soul.
*
Twelve Step Spiritual Recovery (TSSR) and the methodology in the book by the same name, written by James Christopher Cone, brings 85 years of combined knowledge to bear in helping people recover their true selves and find their true purpose.

That is my mission today, to create a world of healing recovery through guiding others toward their true purpose.
