Gun control is back in the news in the wake of the Biden administration's push for increased gun restrictions. Joe Biden and Merrick Garland famously stood on the Rose Garden and advocated for many policies to that effect. One policy proposal in particular is the banning of "ghost guns." Biden describes ghost guns as weapons with "no serial number" that can be manufactured at home; and whose untrackability poses a public safety risk. In his joint address to congress, Joe Biden also called Ghost Guns a public safety menace and immediately called for their immediate banning. In light of these recent musings, Mr. Watson conducts an in-depth exploration of the philosophical roots of Ghost guns, drawing upon the writings of Samuel Edward Konkin III. He uses this exploration to consider multiple questions, including the relationship between individual life and power; objectively understanding the world outside of terms of power; the need for state sanction for "safety," and other questions of that nature.
