This is the first video of a shorter children version of the "Musical instruments of the Oriental world" concert that me and my dear old friend and mentor Louis Soret used to play all over France and Belgium in the early 80s. We travelled in a van with a sound system and 42 oriental musical instruments from Morocco to China, including some instruments that medieval Europe adopted from the East (I remember that I had 116 strings to tune before each concert) and we played 15 different pieces of traditional music from all those different countries, after explaining of course the origin, the characteristics and playing techniques of each instruments (not included in this editing). This first video presents the instruments and the music from Maghreb i.e. Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Sorry for the quality of the video and the audio but at that time we didn't have the HD yet, only some crude VHS cassettes, so...
The instrumental version of the song "Allah Yatik Bissabar" can be heard in the Anello Capuano's Oriental Dance CD "OrienTales" now on sale on iTune Stores and other leading web's music stores.
