What Can The Matrix Teach Us? That Scarcity Breeds Violence. Starting With Personal Security

In Matrix Resurrection Captain Nairobi says "Nothing breeds violence like scarcity". That statement made me rewind and listen to it again.

Because it's ABSOLUTELY true.

Good times brings contentment, lounging, easy living. Take away people's resources and see how quickly that changes, especially if those resources include the bare necessities - food, shelter and security.

I'm headed to Australia for work. As a US citizen, supposedly an Australian ally, in order to obtain a visa and enter the country I had to fill out a 19 page questionnaire, submit my marriage license, DD214, 3 months of pay stubs, covid test and other documents, all to prove that I was who I was saying I was, I didn't plan on staying past my visa and I had ample reason to go home when my business was concluded.

Obviously they are picky about who they will allow into their country. And why shouldn't they be?? I guarantee millions of people would rush to be allowed into Australia if they opened the floodgates of immigration.

Just like they are in the United States. But for some insane reason the concept of personal, community and national security is basically being completely ignored in the US. And it is not going to end well.

Not only are people dying along the way to our southern border, but when they get in the expectations of gliding along gold paved roads with ease for the rest of their lives may not become a reality. And when it doesn't, the immigrants who made the journey because they believed the lies are not going to be happy.

That's when the security part comes in. Not only will the US national sovereignty be completely violated, but with a massive influx of immigrants who have not had time to assimilate, yet expect to be taken care of, recognize the lies they will do the natural thing - lash out and take what they view as theirs.

That's when our personal and community security will come into play. Will we just let them take what they want? Do what they want? With no consequences? We'll see what others do, but I know what I will do!
