Dr Bikman continues his discussion with Dr Shawn Baker on the MeatRX youtube podcast. He explains that excess insulin is a primary cause of insulin resistance and is the most readily controllable cause. Another cause is poly unsaturated fatty acids, like linoleic acid. While secondary, it is still a major cause of insulin resistance because it drive fat cells to grow through hypertrophy rather than hyperplasia.
