Jesus asked the Disciple John to care for His mother, Mary, at the cross because John KNEW how to OBEY God's commandments and His brothers were full of UNBELIEF, not even attending His meetings. After ALL the excitement and announcements by angels, shepherds and wise men at His birth about Jesus is the Son of the Most High God - He lived an OBSCURE life as a carpenter for 30 years in Nazareth, a small town of 30 families off the travelled road with only a well. Moses received a vision and was OBSCURE for 40 years tending sheep, just like King David OBSCURE for 13 years tending sheep, and Joseph OBSCURE for 13 years in prison. I believe Mary became disillusioned with NO miracles for 30 years, but her FAITH returned at the wedding of Cana. My research showed me Jesus experienced criticism and UNBELIEF from His family who would NOT attend His meetings but waited for Him to join them outside. Two reasons are Hebrews 4:15 AMP (Jesus was tempted in ALL ways - even family dysfunction, as we are and yet without sin) and Hebrews 2:18 AMP (As FAITHFUL High Priest He KNOWS how to RUN to the aid of those who SEEK Him).Mary and the brothers were in the Upper Room (Acts 1:14) AFTER Jesus resurrected from the dead to receive the Holy Spirit baptism. This is a RICH and FAITH growing teaching to bring you closer to God and ACHIEVE His purpose!!!
