Old Baron is a dark space opera with the simple goal to entertain and definitely no Hard-SF.
The inspiration was the sinister and brute aesthetics of Warhammer 40K, Starship Troopers and Battlestar Galactica, the cynical tone of "Red Rising" and a good portion of Lovecraftian evil.

Space, monsters, blood and rust - what more do you need?

Oh yes ...
Gigantic battleships and evil evildoers.
And there are plenty of them, as well as various blunt, tongue-in-cheek and sometimes subtle quotes from the genre.

Old Baron portrays the struggles of disillusioned Captain Gunther von Richthofen, a Sternenreich officer wanted for desertion. Together with the clone couple Ryder and Hook, as well as pilot and hacker Alyhda, he steers the badly beaten destroyer «Old Baron» from job to job, bounty-hunters and the Sternenreich always on their heels.
However, surviving proves to be a lot harder than expected and the Sternenreich isn't the only problem the crew of the Old Baron has to deal with.
The "Red Rage", a devilish Psi epidemic that turns the worst nightmares of the infected into a cruel reality, begins to spread in a mutated form.

Old Baron will be published in approximately one-hour episodes and at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks in various editions. As media there will be download and CD via Amazon Media on Demand, as variants pure audiobook, as well as a version underlaid with gloomy&spacy ambient music.

The first story arc will spread over 8-12 episodes, and as it progresses, not only will the plot be advanced, but the background story of the main characters will also be revealed piece by piece. Once the first arc is completed, there will also be a publication as a book and eBook for those who prefer to read for themselves.
