WTF IS THIS

The stock market hit more new lows for the year today but somehow managed to close green with the NASDAQ up 1% & the S&P up .25%. It was a day filled with volatility as traders reacted positively to news that billionaire David Tepper was closing his short on the Nasdaq and doesn't see more downside. That alongside some comments from the Fed & other postive buy the dip notes from big banks like Goldman and JP Morgan, we were able to stage a mini rally that got sold off quick. The market hung around VWAP highlighting some of the liquidity issue but it is clear that the market was getting ready to react to the CPI tomorrow. I go over the April CPI and what it could mean for inflation and the markets. Comparing all the market reactions this year to CPI, it doesn't look like we will be getting a bearish response, but if there is any catalyst to stage a big market rally, it will be positive CPI.
