Could it be possible that the pharmacuitical industry does not want to cure illness?

Could there business model involve destroying the reputation of people who are in fact highly credible?

Is it possible that the in fact actively bury remedies that work in favour of creating permenant customers by managing some symptoms with dangerous medications and then managing the side effects of said medications?
