A Tribute to Mothers

Hebrews 11:11-12

1. Isaiah 51:1-2: If we are going to “follow after” righteousness we should look to Abraham and Sarah.
• They acted in faith and became the mother and father of Israel

2. 1 Peter 3:1-8: Sarah is presented as the epitome of the character qualities exemplary of a godly wife.
• Purity and reverence.
• Inward beauty that radiates from the heart.
• A gentle and quiet spirit.
• A refusal to give way to fear.

3. Hebrews 11:8-16: Sarah experienced all the things that Abraham is commended for.
• She went with Abraham when he moved to Canaan
• She made a home wherever he camped in the Promised Land.
• She became a mother at the age of 90.
• “Therefore, God was not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.”
