Today's look back at 2009 upstarts and underdogs reviews the Haefele Racing No. 73. Now you might say, I don't remember a Haefele Racing 73 car. That's understandable, as the team only made one start, a 43rd place finish at the Spring Phoenix race with Tony Raines behind the wheel. The 73 had planned on attempting the majority, if not entirety of the 2009 Cup schedule with Mike Garvey driving. Garvey, however, would not qualify for any of the first three races, forcing the team to scale back to part time. Following Garvey's final DNQ at the Coca-Cola 600, the team presumably shut down, but would make one final attempt, with driver Josh Wise at the fall Martinsville event, being the lone DNQ of the weekend.
