Andrea Crothers says today Prime Minister Scott Morrison was "doubling-down" on plans to revive the religious discrimination bill if re-elected.
However, Ms Crothers said Mr Morrison wants to do so "separately" to protections for gay students.
"So we do know that this was a key election issue in 2019, the Prime Minister made a promise to put in these extra protections for religious faith," she told Chris Smith.
"But it was during that time he tried to get this through the parliament earlier this year that it was eventually torpedoed because five Liberal moderates ... decided to cross the floor, backing a move to try and introduce these new protections for gay students."
