Running the Race - Part 5

The lesson on May 8, 2022 was part 5 of “Running the Race” study. In this lesson, we are still in the first three verses of Hebrews but Wayne takes time to put it in context of our calling, specifically The Mystery that was revealed to the Apostle PAul. We spend time looking at Colossians 1:14-15 KJV and showing how it ties in with Hebrews but shows the distinction of being hidden in God whereas Israel learned of their calling by the Prophets in times past and in many ways. PAul tells us something new and expresses how it was revealed to him to complete the Word of God. The other emphasis in this lesson was emphasizing how Jesus Christ is the express image of God (which relates to His way of communicating with us in Son) Colossians 1:13-15 KJV ties in nicely with Hebrews 1:2-3. All the other religions of the world create an image to represent their god but that is made with mans hands. The only image acceptable to God to represent Him is that of Jesus Christ as it says in Heb. 1:3 KJV “…the express image of His person…” The scripture reading was from Hebrews 1:1-3 KJVShow more
