Conservative Ideology Hasn’t Changed In 40 Years

After that SCOTUS decision to legalize same-sex marriage in 2015 Republicans and Conservatives seemed to get pretty quiet on demonizing gay people. They then pivoted to attant the trans community. Now they're swinging back to the idea that children knowing that gay people simply exist is something that must be stopped.

Caller: In the don't say gay discourse. one thing I've seen that's never been brought up is that it's 2022. And it's not like you know the days of the 1970s 80s 90s even early 2000s. Kids have smartphones if you don't want kids to talk about anything sexually they'll have multiple ways to figure it out on their own. If they have a smartphone or their friends. I'm sure they've already seen everything. or saw a whole bunch of stuff. And then I guess the second one would be if you guys have heard of Andrew McAfee.
Sam: Hold on let me just address that don't say gay bill. Let's be clear there's no sex ed in Florida schools for kids like I think it's under third grade. It's outlawed. This is not the point. This is not about them, they are expanding the definition of what sexuality is. And what is sexual content? Simply saying that if you mention that your relationship is if I'm a man and my relationship is with a man as opposed to a woman. then it is inherently sexual. If it is in any way different than the heterosexual norm. The heterosexual norm is not sexual according to them. you're not going to hear anybody get sued by a parent for saying a woman or say me and my husband went to Rome for vacation, kids. Does anybody know where Rome is? If you will, you will see a case where a woman says me and my wife went to Rome for vacation. Does anyone know where Rome is? Or me and my husband a man says me and my husband went to Rome. because they don't want the introduction in the classroom that gay people exist. and that's what's going to happen. And so it's not about sexuality it is about relationships. Specific types of relationships that they don't want. Or the existence of people who are not heteronormative.
