Making Your Home A Sanctuary | Mom Talk | Comfy & Cozy Home

Welcome Back! In today's video, I share with you one of my true passions in life, homemaking.
With this scripture in mind, I share with you today:
“I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Phillipeans 4:12KJV

I have learned by watching both of my grandmothers growing up how to be content, serve your family with a loving heart, and create a home atmosphere/sanctuary. Both of my grandmother's did this in very different ways, one lived in a huge old farmhouse with not much material goods, raised a large family, helped manage a farm and business. My other grandmother lived in town and only had one child and enjoyed creating a and maintaining a beautiful home and serving her family and neighbors daily. To me growing up, they both seemed to abound in love and service towards their family! Creating a sanctuary in your home will look different through the years. Maybe is fluffy clean beds and pillows or a small stack of children's books ready to read to a little child snuggled in your lap. Maybe it's just little "treasures" gifted to you by little hands that you keep on your kitchen window sill or maybe it's colored pictures hanging on your frig. Creating a sanctuary, can be reading your Bible in the mornings with your husband, children, or even just alone. Listening to Christ centered music, baking something delicious, having food cooking on the stove, keeping a tidy but warm and inviting space can also be ways of creating a lovely home atmosphere. Remembering to slow down and be content with where the Lord has you right now and enjoy your people that you have around you right now. Keeping Christ as our focus and serving our families as our number one calling in life will help us to prioritize how we create our sanctuary homes. I hope something here was a blessing today and encouragement.
