Canning Beef & Potatoes For HARD TIMES! | Come Hang Out! | Prepping | Food shortage

Welcome! We are so glad that you joined us for today's video. We enjoy sharing our homestead journey with you. Everyone's homestead experience is going to be different and everyone's "homestead" will look different from year to year as you grow and change so will your homestead. This year we are greatly encouraged as it seems that the previous years work in all coming together...it's like every year you build upon the previous year's work. A couple of years back now, we started a small herd of longhorn cattle. This year, we have our first longhorn babies being born! We have also been able to acquire a few locally raised beef cows for our personal freezer. In the next few vlogs, you will get to see some of the process of us canning, processing and freezing the meat. We are also continuing to plant and grow things in the garden. We are still working through the potato harvest from last year's abundance and finally getting to can and put away our sweet potatoes into the pantry. Honestly, between the potatoes, meat and greens that we have growing in our garden not to mention all of the dry good stored in our pantry...I'm feeling like we are TRULY HOMESTEADERS and reaching a place of sustainability in our food! It can be this way for you too! You can get started NOW growing some greens, planting some potatoes, and start a little backyard "herd" of some type of meat...that could be chickens, rabbits, ducks, etc. Until then, can what meat you have and prepare.
