McDonnell writes to a friend, requesting help on variations in his "King's Pawn One" openings against La Bourdonnais in 1834, during their unofficial World Chess Championship.

In this video, we go through his letter and take a look at what he was thinking, using a little a bit of 21st century engine analysis.
