SHOOTOUT BETWEEN SMOKE SHOP EMPLOYEE AND 4 ARMED ROBBERS

A shootout broke out shortly after 7 PM this past Tuesday between a Compton, CA smoke shop employee and four armed robbers. Amazingly, the employee was wounded but survived. I can’t say as much for one of the armed robbers.

One of the men then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the employee. The employee put his hand on his gun as soon as he saw the gun pointed at him and then took cover. Then the employee drew and fired at least one shot at the armed robber, which caused the suspect to fire at least one shot back.

I would assume that was the suspect that the employee hit as it sent him tumbling over another suspect. They then scramble to get out of the store. Another suspect fired one shot at the employee as he fled.

The media reported that the store’s employee was shot in the neck and the face but was released from the hospital. So it sounds like his injuries weren’t that bad if he was released from the hospital. Maybe his injuries were caused by glass shrapnel when the counter was getting shot.

The same can’t be said for one of the armed robbers. The police later found him at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, where he would later die.
