A behind-the-scenes look into the making of the new album from Scot Stoddard and Catherine Corelli, "The Olympians", including videos and images from our home, daily tasks and chores, daily living activities, and some of our travels around our beautiful State of Kentucky, presented in a cinematic fashion, and including music from the first four tracks from our future release. This is an effort to show what we're up to here and keep everybody up to date, let you get a feel for this incredible music.

Previously to this album, Cat and Scot have appeared on each other's albums as additional musicians, but with the exception of one track from 2017, Cassini Drive, they've not been truly collaborating as writers. That all has changed on "The Olympians", which demonstrates truly just what they can come up with as co-writers on the same track. Each musician has their own individual skills and talents, but when this vast array of styles, genres, talents, skills and influences is combined, it creates an entirely different circumstance and blend of stylistic elements.

We have both been fans of many artists over the years, but the genre that really stokes our fires here is metal, and the more radical and progressive, the better! So it should come as no surprise that the genres we portray on this album are art rock and progressive metal, and we've decided to stay within the realm of all-instrumental compositions here. You'll hear the influences here of our favorites artists: Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Slipknot, Korn, and many others.

Thematically, the album is based on Greek Mythology. Compositions are being created with the thought of portraying the characteristics of each of the 12 Olympian gods of Greek Mythology, with the addition of the philosophers Diogenes and Plato, through music. You have to set the proper mood to display the power of Zeus and the beauty of Aphrodite, for example, and we conceptualize each track from the start on how that mood should be set and the style to best get the message across.

Included in this video are excerpts from four tracks:

The Athena Paradox
Diogenes - The Cynic
War God Ares
Mighty Zeus

There will be a total of 14 tracks included in this release. The tracks are not even properly mixed yet as we are still very early in the writing and production phase. What you hear is just a dump of raw tracks with no additional EQs or effects, exactly the way it came out of my DAW when I hit the export song button and made some MP3s. That's it.

We hope you enjoy the scenery and the new music. I will keep everybody informed as me make further progress and approach a release date. Thank you to everybody for all you support from both of us. It means a lot to us that you listen and enjoy our music. If you're new to our music, we're on our own YouTube channels, as well as Spotify, iTunes and all major platforms everywhere. Please leave your comments, we'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this project!
