UK Conservative Party lose flagship London council

Voters in the British capital have used council elections to express anger over a cost-of-living crisis and fines imposed on the prime minister for breaking his own COVID-19 lockdown rules. Wandsworth Council, a flagship Conservative council held by the party since 1978, fell to Labour overnight as Boris Johnson’s party lost several strongholds in London and suffered setbacks elsewhere in local elections.
