Planning Pandemics: Miss Direction and Miss Information
COVID-19, after escaping lockdowns imposed "to save the world", COVID-19 practically missed Hawaii, and avoided on first entry New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, the highest Chinese ancestry populations, where, by probability, a virus on a human host would have gone first in mass migration, and even found the first East Coast imported case in Boston, another person who failed to infect anyone else. Explain the anomaly.
According to the New York Times, on January 8, 2020, and on January 10, 2020, after the first reported death in China, scientists could find no evidence that COVID-19 was an infectious virus. After an examination of almost 56,000 laboratory confirmed cases in China, and, properly, their trace contacts, even the WHO had concluded that "it is not clear whether this correlates with the presence of an infectious virus", finding a secondary attack rate of less than five percent, four times too low to confirm the presence of a disease being transmitted from person to person and 12 times too low to set off a super spreader event. Explain the anomaly.
Yet, in Skagit County, Washington, it was claimed that a super spreader event had occurred at a choir rehearsal. Skagit was so off the radar that there were no reported cases in the entire town, like Bath County, which did not find any infections until July 2020, but the choir director was proactive, establishing procedures to prevent an accidental outbreak, to include social distancing and requesting any persons who felt ill to avoid the practice, which was held in the large fellowship hall, and where, oddly, infections, alleged to be caused by vibrating droplets produced while singing, caused infections primarily in only three of four quadrants in the fellowship hall. Explain the anomaly.
In October 2020, the largest sample size tracer contacts study to date confirmed a secondary attack rate of 4.6%, a study in India where the delta variant had begun to emerge, but it would not arrive in the U.S. until May 2021. Why did it take the most infectious virus Rochelle Walensky had ever seen in 20 years longer to arrive in the U.S. than the original variant? How did more highly contagious omicron jump from South Africa in November 2021 to the U.S. by December? Explain the anomaly.
If there is no rule to explain it, it cannot be predicted, controlled, prevented or mitigated. And science is based upon an ability to replicate results.
