Eastern Phoebe’s nest fallen and abandoned

We found this nest on our deck and gathered up the nest land all five chicks. They fell after the adult birds began to tear the nest apart and knocked it off the wall from about 12’-15’ high. After watching multiple videos and reading many comments online, we decided to try to feed them ourselves rather than attempt to put the nest back up. We had a tree removed a couple of days ago that provided shade. A recent storm had split the tree and made it very dangerous to leave in place. We think that may have caused the problem for the birds. So, we’ll see how they do. So far so good.
