• Is 65:1-4 Israel considered itself to be the only people of God, but in the dispensation of time, other nations began to seek God. Paul mentions Isaiah's statement in Rom_10:20 and points out that these other nations were the Gentiles. God's people today are those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. The gospel is for every person. Many are frantically seeking God today. God beckoned and waited patiently to see them turn around to no avail. The people did not hide their shameful practices or restrain their evil habits. They spent the night in the tomb, a practice copied from their evil neighbors. They also ate abominable food as their neighbors. They were negatively influenced instead of being a positive influence on their neighbors. Today God has called us Influencers and Teachers to the nations.

• Is 65:5-7 The attitude of Hypocrites is to act 'Holier Than Thou' when nothing is holy about the way they live. Such attitude is like a smoke in the nose of God and a fire that burns in His wrath all day. This is why He was determined to stir Himself up to render to the idolaters the fruit of their rebellion. God keeps record of all acts and deeds of men, so that they may be judged accordingly. God articulated the unrepented sins of their fathers and theirs and made them bear the consequences. God has no issues with forgiveness, but someone must call for it with a desire to repent.

• Is. 65:8-9 God will always preserve a faithful remnant of his people. No matter how bad the world is, there are always a few who remain loyal to Him. Jesus made this point in the parable of the Weeds. When Elijah thought that he was the only Prophet that was upholding God's righteous plan, God told him that that there were 7,000 more prophets who were taking a stand for him. 1 Kgs 19:8. Let's humble ourselves before our Maker, who can make stones to sing His praise if no one does. God cannot be harassed by human tantrums.

Father in the name of Jesus, empower me in these three days marathon fasting and prayer on the prayer altar. May all my desires for this quarter and year be granted in Jesus' name!
