The Entrepreneur vs. the World – Miyagi Mornings Episode-110
If you like these videos you will likely love my podcast and all my other stuff you can find at http://tspc.co
The entrepreneur is almost a second human species in some regards, vs. how different they think from all other humans. The question I have for you today is this as some claim "in the genes" or is it programmed into society but people that seek to control society.
Keep in mind there are various personality types and in fact if you have never done so you may want to take the Meyer - Briggs personality test to see where you fall on the spectrum. You can take a version of it free here https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
Want to guess my type? ESTP and it is called, The Entrepreneur you can read about that type here https://www.16personalities.com/estp-personality
With that being the case you may think I would buy into the entire "Entrepreneur from Birth" narrative. Folks, I most certainly do not. I have known plenty of entrepreneurs like myself, daring, extroverted, risk takers. I have also known plenty that are quite and more introverted, some of them are far more successful than I am.
Not every entrepreneur is a promotional type on the Internet with videos of them speaking, promoting and teaching. Some are more the inventor type, some are simply small business people. They don't want to rule the world, they just want to earn a living on their own terms. My father was this type of entrepreneur. No desire to be known as a personality, just would set up a business and run it, make money and go on with his life. When he reached the end of one enterprise due to boredom or market changes, he just started another one. The man did everything from build a multi million dollar tire business, to bootlegging coal and refurbishing shipping pallets.
No this is not genetic, it is far more environmental. In the 18th and 19th century 80-90% of the people in America were entrepreneurs depending on how you define the word. Do you really think our genetics changed in the 1840s-1930s? No our society changed due to industrialization and a movement to automation and factories. Once the industrialists needed workers the conditioning of the human mind to submit to employment truly began. This of course considered with the installation of the Prussian Education System in America and the work of Horace Mann along with lesser known such men such as John Griscom, Calvin E. Stowe, Henry Barnard, George Bancroft and Joseph Cogswell.
Today we discuss why this mind set was systematically eliminated from our society and what you can do about it. Why you can be an entrepreneur, no matter what personality type you have and why the opportunities today are greater than any time in history.
