Immigrant Story Week 9: Dr. Wei Lin From China

Dr. Wei Lin lived in Mao's China -- he experienced not only extreme material poverty under a central-planned economy, but also poverty of thoughts under a true dictatorship. As a medical student, Dr. Lin thirsted for better knowledge and more advanced technology, which made him decide to leave China and come to the US, where he's found the freedom to achieve his dream not only academically but also economically and personally. He shares with us his story of growing up in communist China, his pursuit of academic freedom and development in the US, and his concerns about today's Wokeism and Cancel Culture spreading in the American society. #communism #immigrantstory #wokeism #culturalrevolution
