First, Pompano Beach enjoys fabulous location. Pompano Beach occupies the northeastern area of the Broward County, extending from the State Road A1A and Terra Mar Drive towards the Hillsboro Inlet. Settled in the mid-1880's and incorporated in 1908 Pompano Beach was named for the pompano fish found off the Atlantic coast.
